Where does the name Redditch come from? |

The original name was Red-dyche and it took its name from brooks and streams in the area which ran through red marl which stained the water. |

Probably the most famous are John Bonham, Led Zeppelin’s drummer who was born in 1948 and the actor, screenwriter, director Charles Dance who was born in 1946. |
