During the 18th Century there was a rapid industrial development in Great Britain and the development of Redditch owes much to the needle industry and the related light metal manufacturing industry. During this period and onwards products manufactured in Redditch were exported throughout the world.
In particular Redditch was known and recognised as a manufacturing centre of the following products.
Although many of these products are no longer manufactured in Redditch, the names of many of the manufacturers still exist as well respected brand names.
